John James and Wilshire Terrace Park
Welcome to John James and Wilshire Terrace Park in San Antonio, Texas. This park was first established in 1943 when the United States Government generously gave the first 43 acres to the city to establish Fort Sam Houston Park. It was eventually renamed for a Canadian immigrant to the region who made a career as a land surveyor before passing away in 1877 at the age of 56.
These 2 parks are across the street from each other so they share a profile.
Picnicking: The picnic area at John James Park has 5 tables and 5 grills. Come bring some meats to cook and bring the family and friends.
Salado Creek Greenway is included in this park's acreage.
