Welcome to Skokie's Lorel Park. This park was first established in 1937 with money that came from the sale of two other parks for the construction of Niles East High School, which is today's Oakton Community College. Some of the first amenities to be built include the stone shelter, a sprayground, and a ball field. The 1990's saw numerous park improvements including a $189K 1991 makeover that resulted in a new playground and picnic area, new water fountains, and improvements to the athletic courts. In 1992, the park's shelter was reconstructed for a price of $73K. The shelter has grills so bring some meats for cooking. Come on out and have fun!
