Welcome to the beautiful Deer Creek Canyon Park located in Jefferson County, Colorado near the town of Deer Creek. The Native American tribes of Ute and Arapahoe once called the area that is now Deer Creek Canyon Park home. After the arrival of European settlers it became a camping place for miners and farmers and was first homesteaded in 1872 by John Williamson of Plymouth England. Today the park provides habitat for mountain lions, black bears, mule deer, wild turkeys, and other species. It provides numerous recreational opportunities as well as scenic views of Denver's skyline. Come out and explore.
